I recently bought a 70's home, complete with popcorn ceiling, wood paneling, and crazy retro wallpaper, and I used Tex Painting to update the entire interior of the house.  They removed the popcorn ceilings, old wallpaper, performed drywall repair, painted the cabinets, retextured, and painted everything else from floor to ceiling, and they did it all in a very short time and at a reasonable price.  I caught them at a busy time, so there were a couple initial scheduling issues, but once they got going, they finished the job quickly, and left very little mess behind.  I plan on using them again in the not-too-distant future to paint the exterior of my home as well.  Big thanks to Dan for keeping everything on schedule and budget.

My wife and I just bought our very first home here in Austin, which was built in 1972. Tex Painting removed all of the popcorn ceilings, textured and painted ceilings throughout the house, removed outdated wallpaper, and painted the entire house from top to bottom, including kitchen cabinets and white risers on our wood staircase. They were professional, clean, and in constant communication with me. I appreciate their work and would use them again in a heartbeat.

If I were a contractor critic and I was channeling Siskel and Ebert, Scott and his team of painters would earn the highest marks available.  Who would of thought there was so many steps to an exterior paint job. If we need any other painting for our home we will call this painting company.

Carlos from Tex did a fantastic job with the interior paint and wall patch up work around the house.  He comes from a family of painters and I can tell the level of care, pride, expertise and attention he places into his work.  A rare find nowadays.

I just had the outside of my house painted by Tex Painting and I couldn't be happier! They started the job right away and got it done quickly. The crew was very conscientious and took pride in their work. They paid attention to detail, including the clean-up. George was great to work with and delivered more than he promised. And the price was great! I'd recommend Tex Painting to anyone!

I was very impressed with Tex Painting. The owner, Scott, was quick to respond to our calls and emails, which is always a good initial sign of a professional company. He came out to do the estimate and we had the bid in our email within a few days. Though we waited a few months to eventually paint our house, Scott was ready to go when we called. He informed me which paint brands would work best & we did a walk through of the exterior of the home to be sure we were on the same page about what was to get painted and was to not be painted. The guys showed up the next morning ready to power wash the house then caulk it, then paint the next day. In total, the project took 2 1/2 days.

The guys were extremely prompt, thorough and had a keen attention to detail which I greatly appreciate. They moved my outdoor furniture away from the home and put things back where they found them which was SO incredibly nice and not what I had expected.

I LOVE the final product of my beautifully repainted home. Thanks Scott and Tex Painting!

Scott and his crew were extremely clean and did a very thorough job with our home. We have had so many neighbors stop and compliment the job that they did. In addition to the painting, there was a very large amount of caulking and priming required because we painted the brick as well as the siding. All aspects of the job look great. I have already recommended them to several neighbors and will continue to recommend them.

Scott and Barry were wonderful to work with. Their quote was extremely fair and they got the job done on time.

They not only took down all of the popcorn ceiling, but they painted all of the trim and the kitchen cabinets. They were quick, professional and the place looks great.
I"m going to have them back to do the exterior.

My bungalow is an older home with aluminum siding.  Tex Painting gave me a good bid, and my house (exterior) looks beautiful.  They helped replace old screens, and George was intent on making sure I was satisfied.  I did keep an eye on things to make sure they produced what I expected.   A latex painted door had to be repainted with enamel, and a few other touch ups and repairs were done to finalize the job.  They were willing to do everything I asked.  Ultimately, I got a great job for a great price, in my opinion.  I had another bid that was very close, but I'm happy with my choice.  The communication gap posed a problem at times, but I'm pretty good at charades.  The painters worked very hard, for long days, and the job probably took longer than expected, as happens with older houses.  I really liked George's availability and intention to make sure I was happy with the result.

In addition to being the least expensive bid I received, Tex Painting was professional and finished the job in advance of the timeline they set.  The estimator was prompt and friendly and the crew on-site was professional and took great care to take care of the fine details on the job.  I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

I came across Tex Painting while searching on Redbeacon.com and they were VERY responsive! We spoke within minutes of my inquiry and they were out within a few days giving us a quote. They picked up all of the paint for us and provided all of the tools and manpower necessary. All we had to do was meet with them, get a quote, and then schedule the job. Everyone that I met with was extremely professional and great to work with, and they finished our entire interior in less than 2 days and did a fantastic job. We had gotten several quotes and found that their price was fair and the quality was excellent. We're very pleased with the experience (which can sometimes be a nightmare) and the job that they did. I'd highly recommend Tex Painting!

I hired Tex Painting for exterior painting of our house. I got two other quotes and their quote was the most competitive. I like doing my homework but if you are busy, I don't think it is necessary to get a second quote, because their quote is fair and competitive.

After getting a quote from Barry, Scott (the owner) handled most logistics, getting the requirements from me.

I asked Scott whether he can bring some sample paints for me to try the colors out. Though such color trial was not included in the quote, he was glad to to pick up sample pains from Sherwin Williams. I ended up picking a color from BEHR. Because home depot was not able to find the exact recipe, Scott had to match the color. He did a very good job making sure the color was the exact color that I wanted and I could not tell the difference after all.

Scott and the crews offered to paint some trims at no cost. After painting the back of the house, we noticed that it would be much nicer if some of the trims were painted in white to give more definitions. So I asked Scott, and he offered to do the job at no cost. Due to some miscommunication, we also had to repaint the ceiling of my porch. Scott and his crews went out of the way to accommodate my request and I thank them!

TexPainting crews are quiet and efficient.  Javier does an excellent job. Scott's professionalism is outstanding ---he is super-responsive and super clear. Especially, when I was doing an inspection with him, I was pleasantly surprised that he noticed some imperfect jobs himself and voluntarily put the blue tapes on them, so that his crews can take care of the job later.

Thanks TexPainting for a beautiful, well-done job!  I'd recommend them for any of my friends!

We bought another house about a year ago in north Austin, one of those dated 1980s places that you swear you will never buy until you have kids and realize the schools suck outside the suburbs in any reasonably affordable neighborhood. We have owned two very old bungalows in central Austin previously, which were just born cute but this place needed a LOT of help; salmon and beige paint? Blargh! Rust colored door, brass fixtures, you are familiar, I'm sure. So! We got this recommendation from a neighbor to take the first step in our exterior remodel, "Call Jorge. He is SO good, you will be happy." Jorge came over the very next day, briefly walked the premises and chatted about what we wanted painted and pain sheens, and said they would be over the next day. I could not believe it! The painters were at my house bright and early to powerwash the house and fill in cracks and nail holes and prepping wood. They spent hours doing this, they were very thorough. The next day they came back and covered everything (including our neighbor's car, which was so sweet!) and got to work. There were many dudes, and each one of them was friendly and meticulous. The job was completed and Jorge called us to make sure we were happy BEFORE his guys packed up. We did want them to touch up one area and they did that in 5 minutes and were gone. Standing back and looking at our house, it's like Santa's elves came over while we were sleeping and transported us forward in time about 3 decades. Amazing!
Also, a note on pricing, our bid was less than the other contractor we had a bid from and in the end we paid even less than our quote! Jorge is extremely honest and friendly, I wish I could hire him for all of my crazy contractor needs. However! Tex does do interior paint and popcorn ceilings, both of which my friend said was a great experience for her as well. I would call them for any future project, absolutely.

Tex Painting have painted at least 5 of my rental houses. I have co-ordinated each job with Dan who works very hard to retain my business. He has always been punctual, pleasant to deal with and made several good suggestions and offers a fair price. They have undertaken big and small jobs with the same level of professionalism and that is impressive. As an owner of a lot of properties I need to know that I can rely on contractors to take care of the small stuff as well as the big projects. They have always shown up on the agreed date and completed the job to my satisfaction within the timeframe that they mapped out. Any issues that have come up they have addressed and taken care of to my satisfaction. They respond fast to texts and e-mails and at least one of their paint crews speaks good English. I very much hope they can continue to grow their business and maintain their high standards.

Tex Painting did my entire office and they were half the price of the three other bids I got.

They were in and out in a weekend. SUPER PRO. No one had to go home because of paint fumes, people in the way, etc.

I'm going to use them for my house next!

Def worth the call to get a quote.

Tex Painting did an excellent job painting my exterior home in Cedar Park. I had several other painting contractors come to my home only 3 out of 7 actually submitted a quote. Scott Miller with Tex Painting gave me a quote on the spot, which I really appreciated. They we're not the cheapest quote I received but not even close to being the most expensive. The crew that painted my house was top notch, even patiently awaited my last minute color change. I could not be more pleased with the outcome. I actually feel proud to come home. I highly recommend!

I found Tex Painting through Yelp.  At 4-1/2 stars and many reviewers, I thought I'd get a good deal and a good paint job.  I am pleased with the result.  Unfortunately, the process could have been better.

I worked with George, the project manager, to resolve the problems I encountered.  He was very accommodating and I could tell that his goal was my complete satisfaction.  Ultimately, we got there, but I would have given 5 stars instead of 4 if there hadn't been any problems in the first place.

Here's my story:  I needed the outside of my house painted.  It had been about 25 years since the exterior had been done, but I guess that since I didn't wait the full 30 years that my paint manufacturer recommended, I had very little repair work/wood replacement to be done.

Two men came out to do the painting.  One spoke English and one did not.  I don't care who speaks English as long as we can communicate about what is being done and what needs to be done, but the guy who did the majority of the work did not speak English, which meant that all of my communications were being translated by the guy who did very little work but spent most of his day on the phone.

At about mid-morning on the first day they power washed the house.  That took a couple of hours.  By mid afternoon they were already spraying the house.  I was quite surprised, because no prep was done.  The result was that I had to be my own inspector, reviewing their work every day and pointing out what needed to be done (caulking, filling holes, repainting trim edges because of carelessness, painting areas that were missed, etc.).

The lazy painter painted my trim.  I think he used a paint brush from the dollar store.  And up close it looks like the paint was too thick.  There are paint stroke marks on everything.

I would tell Lazy Painter what needed to be done, he'd tell me they had done everything, and then I'd come out and find that it had not all been done.  After a couple of days of this, I called George.  He came out and walked around the house while I pointed everything out.  I finally made a list, like a new house punch list.  George gave the list to Lazy Painter, who did some things & then called George to tell him he was finished.  Once again I had to go out with the list and walk the area to point out the things still not done.

Eventually, everything on the list got done, but in the process, some of the base color (a sandy kind of color) got sprayed on part of the house and the painters had not carefully covered my new front door (black).  So that created a new issue:  my front door had to be repainted.

So, when these two sloppy painters started creating new issues, George sent out a more experienced painter with a much better work ethic.  He also wanted me to be satisfied with the quality of his work.  So, he cleaned up the sloppy mess left by the first two guys, which included their debris.

So, that left my front door.  Because it was brand new and I had paid for factory painting, I requested that the door be sprayed and not painted with a roller.  I told George the door had to be removed from the hinges and that the knob and lock had to be removed before the door was painted.

George sent someone new.  He removed the door from the hinges as requested, and removed the knob and handle.  He also taped the glass . . . but he decided to paint on a windy day even though I raised the question before he began.  Bad decision.  The wind brought small pieces of debris up onto the fresh paint, and of course, it dried there.  Also, when he removed the tape, he pulled off two layers of paint in a small area, including the manufacturer's paint.  So then I had a door that was worse off than before and I was afraid I'd have an uneven finish.

Once again George stepped in.  He had the door removed and taken to an offsite location.  I asked him to inspect the door before it was returned, because I didn't want any more frustrations, and he did.  When the door arrived it was perfect.  It was as smooth as a baby's bottom and looks great.

Eventually, after nearly a month, everything was done to my satisfaction.  The trim (back door and shutters) will never have the smooth clean finish I wanted, but I had to put that in a bubble and let it float away.  The house looks great from the street and that's all most people will ever notice.  And even up close everything else looks great.  My front door in particular.

Through all of this I learned that the first two painters were new to TexPainting, & now, thankfully for future TexPainting customers, they no longer work there.

So . . . my advice to others would be to go ahead and call TexPainting.  They'll give you a great price, but be sure you ask for one of their best painters.  If I have any more painting work to be done I'll call them again, but I will be a much more experienced customer and I will ask for the best and settle only for perfection.

Tex Painting just repaired and painted my home's exterior.  If I had known it could look that good at such a decent price, I would have done this much earlier.  They were considerably lower than the two other quotes I had, mainly because they recommended low-cost fixes instead of major replacements.

George did a great job of explaining the quote and the process, letting me know when things would start and checking in with me several times while the work was in progress and again at the end.

They responded promptly to my request for a quote and were able to start a week later.  The job went right on schedule, everybody was very nice, and the work looks great.  The painter did a meticulous job (as we hope one will!).  He went around the house checking for any problems, tagging them and fixing them.

I will definitely use them again.

The main reasons I recommend Tex Painting are the quality of Scott's character and his follow-through. I think he cares about what he does and he is a hard worker. He responded well to my needs as a homeowner, which included care of landscaping, adding a third color to the job, and coming back for touch-up work.
