Allowing Galvez Works, LLC into our home was the worst mistake we ever made. The mistakes started from the very beginning. They came and ripped out our windows in June 2016, boarded them up and then didn't install the new windows until the last week of August. All that time our AC was working overtime (during the hottest time of the year!) to compensate for the air being sucked out due to the lack of windows. Do you think they hauled off our old windows and debris? NO! They left that trash in our yard for 6 months, which led to the death of our yard. In the meantime, they were supposed to work on our cabinets. We were promised no less than 6 dates where the cabinets were going to be installed. As they started to uninstall the original sink, they didn't send over a licensed plumber and subsequently flooded our kitchen, which ruined our original wood floors. When they finally did bring in part of the cabinets, the doors didn't fit, wouldn't open and the base cabinet for the sink wasn't large enough to hold the sink (wtf)! Their remedy was the glue another piece to the cabinet so that they didn't have to redo the doors and it would be an "extension" of the cabinet to fill in the gap. When they did finally install the cabinets, they broke the double oven while installing it. Because they incorrectly measured for the cabinets, the granite was cut wrong. Their remedy was to glue a piece under the granite to "make it stronger", instead of making the issue right. We pushed back and eventually got the granite we paid for. After the granite was installed, they put the refrigerator back in its spot and dented the door. In the meantime, the painter shows up; without a paint brush, paint or ladder. He also didn't know what he was to paint. Then they send over unlicensed people to do our lighting, gas and plumping, all of which are not to code. After using an unlicensed handyman to install our sink, we had another flood that ruined the second set of wood floors. Jaime Galvez and Billy Raymer REFUSED to send over a licensed plumber to fix the issue until we threatened to hire our own and deduct it from their final payment. We were originally told that we wouldn't be inconvenienced; however, we were unable to cook or even clean dishes for close to 4 months. When it came time to do the backsplash, we had to teach these handymen how to do a herringbone pattern. When we complained about the workmanship, we were told that his guys had satisfied many of his "prominent individuals". The backsplash was redone 3 times due to inadequate workmanship. To this day it is still not correct and Jaime Galvez said "someone will have to pay for this" if we wanted it done correctly. After the 3rd redo, Jaime Galvez blamed us for picking marble and The Tile Shop for selling bad product. Now, we sit with a inferior grade replacement wood floor, which is starting to buckle and chip; stripped walls because their employees cannot texture a wall to save their life; shorts in the electrical, plumbing that is not to code, gas that is not to code; windows that are not finished, caulking that is cracking (because they used the wrong caulk), cabinets that are popping nails (probably due to bad installation); door frames that are so roughly painted that they could almost cut your hand; and cabinet paint that is cracking. Now, let's address the damages that Galvez Works, LLC caused....they came into our home and destroyed so much. They damaged our front door, ruined a rug, damaged our grandfather clock, got texture spray all over our BRAND NEW light fixture, damaged our existing wood floors because they threw their tools down on the floor and never covered them up; the backyard; the sprinkler head they stomped; OUR LADDER, that they used for 11 months, which now has paint all over it. They also used ALL our tools; our ladder, our hammers, our screwdrivers, our tape measures, etc etc etc. Rarely did they show up with their own tools, and just helped themselves to ours. As far back as August, we were begging for completion dates. Many many promised completion dates came and went, and yet we still sit here incomplete. When we started talking to contractors who could complete the job, Jaime Galvez and Billy Raymer threatened us with liens. In October 2016, Billy Raymer (general contractor, lol) owed Jaime Galvez $10,000. Lo and behold a $10,000 "change order" was emailed and it had to be paid ASAP! Besides the base board addition, Jaime and Billy decided to charge us to redo their mistakes and call it a change order. They threatened to walk off the job unless Jaime got paid, we were held hostage at this point because we didn't have any cooking ability. In January 2017, we were told that Billy owed Jaime $9,000 from our job; money that we had already paid Billy. So what kind of scam is it when you know your general contractor has been paid, isn't paying you but you continue to rack up a bill against the homeowner and then threaten to place a lien on the property? I am reposting this review as I believe that if you're going to open yourself up for reviews then you have to take the good with the bad.
